Fuels Technician

As the Fuels Technician, you will be responsible for the safe receipt, storage, quality control, and distribution of aviation and ground fuels in support of ongoing air base operations at Al Udeid Air Base. This role ensures uninterrupted fuel support for aircraft and ground equipment while maintaining strict compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Receive, store, and issue aviation and ground fuels in accordance with established procedures and regulations
• Perform aircraft and ground equipment fueling/defueling operations safely and efficiently
• Conduct routine fuel quality control tests (e.g., contamination checks, density, temperature)
• Operate fuel distribution systems, pumps, valves, hydrants, and refueling vehicles
• Inspect, maintain, and document fuel systems, storage tanks, hoses, and equipment
• Maintain accurate fuel inventory, logs, and operational records
• Follow all safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling protocols
• Respond to fuel spills or emergencies in accordance with emergency response procedures
• Coordinate with aircrew, maintenance, and logistics personnel to support mission requirements
• Comply with base access, security, and operational policies at all times

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in fuel operations, aviation fueling, or petroleum systems
• Knowledge of aviation fuels (e.g., JP-8, Jet A-1) and ground fuels

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred)
• Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements, as outlined in the USCENTCOM APR 23 MOD EIGHTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL AND INDIVIDUAL-UNIT DEPLOYMENT POLICY
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar
• Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
• Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

• Experience operating fuel trucks, hydrant systems, or bulk fuel storage facilities
• Ability to work rotating shifts, extended hours, and in extreme weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Valid driver’s license (commercial license preferred, if applicable)

TRAVEL: 100%, deployed overseas.
