Choicelunch is a dynamic provider of healthy school lunches. Our Hayward facility is a high-volume food distribution environment that is hiring energetic and quality-oriented team members.  We have full-time positions that typically follow the school year calendar. Perfect for families to enjoy the holidays off!

Job Summary:

Energetic and quality-oriented team member committed to meet, or exceed expectations and goals of Choicelunch in providing healthy school lunches in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.  Tasks will include order fulfillment order picking, loading, and unloading trucks; packing and restocking of food and supply bins; and assisting in the kitchen as necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  Follow instructions given on varying tasks

  Assist in various areas of the kitchen as needed


• 
  Maintain a clean and safe working environment


• 
  Ability to work in varying temperature environments


• Any other assigned tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   Experience in order picking/fulfillment a plus


• 
  No prior experience or skills are required, however a CA Food Handlers Certificate a plus


• 
  Must have High School equivalent education


• 
  Able to read and write in English

Physical demands and work environment: 

• Physical demands: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and safely move HFB’s which way upwards for 250 lbs and safely operate lift gate. Specific vision abilities required by the job require close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, and on occasion may be exposed to cold temperatures in the walk-in refrigerator for extended periods of time.  The noise level is usually moderate.
