The Fulfillment Team Lead is responsible for on the floor leadership of fulfillment operations including picking, packing and coordinating with shipping, customer service, wholesale teams as needed. The successful candidate in this role will be detail-oriented, have strong critical thinking skills, work well independently, yet also be able to lead a team and delegate tasks, and have experience in a warehouse, inventory, and/or fulfillment operations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers and be comfortable training new employees. 

This position has a schedule of Tuesday-Saturday, 7am to 3:30pm at our Elk Grove Village, IL location. Pay starting at $20.50/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee fulfillment of all e-commerce and gift box orders from packaging to shipping in a manner prioritized by management, checking for special order notes or expedited shipping 
• Ensure compliance of all packaging and packaged goods to company standards
• Ensure all outgoing packages are organized for pickups and proper reporting provided to all carriers. As well as loading UPS and USPS pallets when picking up.
• In-directly supervising the team, distributing work based on team members’ skills and workload while motivating team members to perform to the best of their ability.
• Ensures the team meets daily output metrics accurately and timely. Tracks and reports daily fulfillment metrics and issues
• Work alongside team members, guiding and assisting where needed.
• Responsible for training of new employees in web order fulfillment, checking, packing, and backing roles 
• Ensure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
• Acting as a liaison between team members and management, ensuring that communication is done in a timely manner.
• Help coordinate with the customer service team to manage customer needs (including but not limited to address changes, order subtractions/additions, special requests, and errors in fulfillment) through CRM usage
• Ensure inventory accuracy is continuously maintained (cycle counts, replenishment, refunds, returns, etc).

• Minimum 2-3+ years in a food manufacturing or distribution center environment; project leadership a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must be proficient in English
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as manage and perform multiple tasks
• Ability to lift at least 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
• Proficient computer skills, including email, Google Docs & Google Sheets
• Must be able to follow all Spice House general work rules, policies, procedures, safety rules, guidelines and GMP’s
• Passion for food and flavor is a must!

Reports To: Fulfillment Supervisor/Sr. Warehouse Operations Manager

Position Type: This is an hourly non- exempt, full time position. 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write accurately. Must be able to climb ladders, must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move items that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
