Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and energetic Daycare/Preschool Teacher to join our growing preschool team! You will be responsible for encouraging children’s intellectual, psychological, and physical growth, while maintaining a positive environment with parents, children, and co workers. Our ideal candidate is nurturing, patient, and creative. If you have a passion for helping children learn and reach their potential, we want to hear from you! Preschool Teacher must be over 18 years of age to pass DOJ/FBI background clearance. AS/BS Degree in ECE, related field-or equivalent is desired for upholding Child Development & appropriate practices. Montessori Certificate or equivalent is a big plus.
1 positions available for Full time Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm. 25% of your time will be using outdoor areas and playground with a small class, great child/teacher ratio, and always having a co teacher. Provide activities and lesson plans for children ages 2, 3 & 4 on a pre set schedule. Activities must include, music/movement, outdoor games, storytime and art/crafts daily. We are a private school with gentle children, and well educated and well spoken, career minded teachers. Our staff are career oriented, professional teachers, who enjoy their work. Responsibilities
- Plan games and activities that are developmentally appropriate
- Design a daily and weekly schedule
- Provide basic care and potty training for those in need
- Evaluate children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones
- Communicate with parents and update them on their children’s activities
- prepare monthly activity newsletters with co teacher
- create and implement lesson plans with co teacher
- Montessori principles- We will train you
- Outgoing personality, communication skills
- Knowledge of preparing outdoor play materials
- Enjoy arts and crafts, and be able to sing children's songs, enjoy children's music
- Classroom managements skills are a must!
Qualifications
- 5 years of previous experience as a preschool teacher/childcare provider
- Must be reliable, on time, have reliable transportation
- Strong understanding of child development
- Patient, kind, and nurturing
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- First aid/CPR certified
- CDA Associate Teacher Permit or similar

Applicants Must have (the following requirements are required to work at this preschool center)
- 12-24 ECE Units completed or currently in progress at accredited college in the following classes; Child, Family & Community, Child-Human Growth & Development, Nutrition/Health/Safety, and Principles/Practices in ECE, or other approved coursework equaling Core required classes. Willing to consider less than 12-24 ECE units based on coursework, and classroom management experience.
- CPR/First Aid, card certified
- Mandated Reporter Certificate (must be current)
Immunization Requirements; Current MMR & Pertussis, and flu immunizations
In order to be in the classrooms, Teachers must bring proof of the following:
Measles Immunity* (2 MMR vaccinations, or a positive titer for Measles)
- Tdap for Pertussis Immunity* (immunization must be after the age of 11)
- Flu Immunity (you may choose to fill out a declination - available from the front desk)
- TB Clearance (within 1 year - if you have ever received a positive result, you must submit a clear chest x-ray within 5 years with a yearly reevaluation.)
- *Only a physician can decline for Measles and Tdap due to “physical condition or medical circumstances.” Personal exemptions are no longer accepted even if signed by a doctor.
Our Mission
The mission of our program is to provide for the whole child and foster independence by creating a stimulating and well prepared hands-on environment. The curriculum is geared to the age appropriateness of the children in each group, as well as to individual maturation differences.
A Typical Day
Our Preschool, Kindergarten, and First grade Montessori curriculum is based on an atmosphere of freedom, responsibility, and respect to explore.
The four major areas in a Montessori environment are language, mathematics, sensorial, and practical life. Art and music are an integral part of each of these areas. No area is an isolated entity. Every activity is a direct or indirect preparation for everything else in the environment.
