Full- Time- Direct Support Professional- Tinton Woodshop

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals in a woodshop environment. The DSP will provide support to individual with varying abilities, ensuring a safe, productive, and inclusive workspace.

Position: Direct Support Professional

Hours: Full-time (Mon.- Fri.)

Responsibilities:

• Help individuals with the setup, operation, and maintenance of woodshop equipment, including saws and other cutting tools.


• Ensure all safety protocols are followed, providing guidance and supervision to prevent accidents and injuries.


• Support individuals in developing their woodworking skills, offering encouragement and hands-on assistance as needed.


• Monitor the quality of items being produced, ensuring they meet specified standards.


• Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and any incidents that occur in the woodshop.


• Collaborate with other staff members and individuals to ensure clear and effective communication.


• Provide personal care assistance, as needed, including help with mobility, hygiene, and other activities of daily living.


• Address any issues or challenges that arise in the woodshop, finding solutions to ensure smooth operations. 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent


• Valid driver's license and clean driving record


• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing


• Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision


• Basic computer skills


• Previous experience in a woodshop or similar environment is preferred.
