Schedule:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday at Fair Lawn (flexible hours between 7a-7p), Tuesdays at Denville (flexible hours between 7a-7p).

 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION 

Performs Echocardiograph procedures for referring physicians of a quality that aids in the diagnosis of the patient. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Perform Echocardiograph examinations on patients of all ages as assigned in accordance with 
established guidelines in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination and treatment providing the highest patient care. 
2. Order supplies for Echocardiograph tests. 
3. Address patients’ needs and questions as they arise in a professional and courteous manner. 
4. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. 
5. Always verify patient with exam order and study to be performed prior to placing patient on the 
scanning table. 
6. Organize and document all aspects of assigned patient care in coordination with referring 
physician and the radiologist to ensure accurate and timely performance of procedures. 
7. Knowledge of scheduling procedures for Echocardiograph. 
8. Maintenance and organization of patient film file records in our EMR and on site as needed. 
9. Handling patient priors as needed. 
10. Checking and verifying exam with EMR order vs Rx 
11. Verifying images, notes, authorization number if pertinent to patient exams. 
12. Verifying Physician study routing preferences. 
13. Scan in patient paperwork and verify exams in PACS with all necessary information for Radiologist to read exam. 
14. Maintain continuing education units as required to ensure ARDMS certification. 
15. Maintain clean and stocked work area. 
16. Maintain HIPAA practices and HIPAA training.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), equivalent to high school diploma, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 2+ years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
