Full Time Hospice Regional Admissions Coordinator (AM)

We are currently seeking a Hospice Regional Admissions Coordinator in the San Diego area who shares our passion for providing dignified, compassionate end-of-life care. This person will be covering the San Diego areas. 

Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.

Shift Schedule: Full Time, AM shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma


• Some college courses related to business administration preferred


• One year experience dealing with the public via telephone or in person, preferably in a customer service or inside sales role


• This role requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record as a condition of employment. Associates must comply with all state and federal driving regulations


• Associates in roles requiring driving are responsible for maintaining a valid and active driver’s license. Failure to maintain a valid license may result in reassignment, suspension, or termination in accordance with company policies and applicable laws


• Typing 50 words per minute, managing records/files, basic computer skills (i.e. Forms, Labels, Excel and Word)


• Prior hospice or palliative supportive care experience strongly preferred

What you'll be doing:

• Data entry, including keeping all admission tracking logs up to date


• Overcomes initial objections to hospice services and palliative and supportive care


• General admission coordination, including coordinating hospital discharges


• Manages the insurance verification and authorization process


• Schedules appropriate staff to meet with patient/families to discuss hospice and supportive care services in a timely manner


• Participate in related meetings


• Ensure all intake documents are completed per policy


• Exhibits empathetic communication style with patients, families, and associates, requiring the ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergencies


• Other duties as assigned
