Job Description - Full Time RN/LPN- Hale County Hospital

We are hiring:


1 Day-Shift RN/LPN for 7:00am-7:00pm


AND


1 Day-Shift Emergency Room RN for 7:00am-7:00pm.


 


This job description covers the most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other work assignments not mentioned.


SUMMARY


The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.  


The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assumes the responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician in the patient care area.  
 


RN PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


1.     Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.


2.     Initiates or assists in-hospital codes and CPR as required.


3.     Administers medication as ordered by Physician.


4. Collaborates with other health care providers and provides education to patients and/or families (while in compliance with HIPAA).



LPN PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  1.    Has considerable knowledge of the care and treatment of patients and special procedures that apply to practical nursing.
    2.    Performs direct nursing functions under the supervision of a RN or Physician.
    3.    Administers medication as ordered by Physician.
    4.    Collaborates with other health care providers and provides education to patients and/or families (while in compliance with HIPAA).


 


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


1.    Responsible for attending staff meeting as evident by 70% attendance to ensure that necessary information is received.
2.    Attends inservices and mandatory meetings.
3.    Adheres to the dress code, attendance and all other company policies and procedures.


 


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


1.    Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2.    Current RN/LPN licensure for the State of Alabama.
3.    Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
4.    Proficient oral and written communication skills.
5.    One year experience as a RN/LPN in a hospital setting preferred.  


 


WORKING CONDITIONS


1.    May be exposed to the risk of communicable diseases and radiation.
2.    May require handling of unclean or infectious materials.
3.    Normally works in a well lighted, well ventilated area.
4.    Must be able to work under the stress and conditions that normally exist in a hospital setting.
5.    Classification Category I – Tasks that involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
