Full Time Shipping Associate

The Gund Company Canada has an immediate opening at our­­­­­ Fergus, Ontario, Canada manufacturing plant 

for a full-time Shipping Associate to join our team!

First Shift - 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday

Starting Hourly Wage: $23.75

Job Summary - Shipping Associate

• Assist the Shipping Team to complete daily shipments to our customers
• Work may involve one or more of the following: knowledge of various items of stock in order to verify content selection of appropriate type and size of container; using appropriate packing material to prevent breakage or damage; closing and sealing container; and applying labels or entering identifying data on container

Duties - Shipping Associate

• Prepare product for shipment to the customer by inspecting, labeling and packaging product according to standard procedures
• Match work order/packing slip documentation to order documentation to verify all critical shipment data
• Confirm correct quantity/counts against work order or packing slip
• Operate forklift (As needed and if certified through TGC)
• Load and unload trucks as necessary
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements -  Shipping Associate 

• Requires the ability to read production or shipping documents
• Communicate with supervisor on work order priority
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments
• Ability to operate a forklift is an asset
• A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. 

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. 

• Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
• May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
