Objectives of this role

• Maintain maximum availability to accept assignments 
• Execute lesson plan(s) consistent with teacher guidelines and school curriculum
• Establish an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience
• Become familiar with school emergency protocols, such as fire drill and lockdown
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma
• Flexibility and patience in scheduling
• Confidence and proficiency in giving instruction
• Superb verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to pass background check

• Build relationships with parents and other perspective support staff to assist scholar learning.
• Able to quickly learn and incorporate technology into teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Reflective professional, with a lifelong learning attitude, focused on continuous growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for scholars
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage scholar participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual scholar
• Supervise scholars in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
• For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher’s past lesson plans
