METROPOLITAN KNOXVILLE AIRPORT AUTHORITY
The Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (MKAA) was established in 1978 as a nonprofit agency to own and operate the city's aviation system, McGhee Tyson Airport and Downtown Island Airport, and has recently celebrated a full 88-years in service to the East Tennessee area. Being centrally located within a one day's drive or a few hours flight from major cities, MKAA continues to be integral to the air transportation system. The Position:
We are currently seeking a non-exempt Badging Technician II to process Airport-issued badge applications including applicant fingerprinting. Provides regulatory-required information and directions. Issues keys and photo identification for access. Ensures security of badge holder data and unissued access media. Audits issued badges and keys while ensuring continued compliance with the Airport Security Program and Transportation Security Administration mandates. Maintains confidentiality and appropriate custody of sensitive information and records.

The Ideal Candidate:
This candidate should have attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and data entry; clear and effective communication; strong organization skills including managing multiple tasks and deadlines; proficiency with badge management systems and databases; be able to troubleshoot issues related to access control, badge functionality, and related equipment; Security awareness for understanding security protocols and regulations; Compliance with policies and regulations; and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
The skills above will be applied with knowledge and training gained about airport security, an access control system (Matrix Frontier Software), and a related database and clearinghouse. The selected candidate will also use an electronic fingerprinting system, Microsoft Office Suite, and become familiar with the Airport Authority facilities and layout.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Salary and Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $41,691.46 - $54,198.90, depending on experience (DOE). MKAA offers a very competitive benefits package for this position, including medical/dental/vision benefits, disability/life insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and a 401(a)-retirement program.
