Church Day Porter and Custodian 

Department: Facilities Maintenance, School Facility Management LLC 

Reports To: On-Site Facility Manager 

Location: Church in the Belle Meade area

Employment Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

Compensation: $20 per hour plus benefits

Working Schedule: 

• Full-time (40 hrs/week) with variable shifts Monday–Sunday, typically 7 AM–5 PM, occasional evenings until 9 PM,.
• Rotating weekends (some Saturdays and at least 2 Sundays/month), with schedules planned and posted monthly for the team.

Job Summary:

The Church Day Porter and Custodian is responsible for custodial and maintenance of the church facility, supporting events, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the property. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to excellent service. The ideal candidate is hardworking, customer-focused, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Help set up and take down equipment and materials for church services and events
• Support presentations when trained, and assist with light cleaning
• Set up and take down tables and chairs for weekend events
• Monitor events and help with cleanup, including setting up coffee and water stations
• Assist with setting up projectors and microphones when needed
• Do custodial work, including light cleaning and disinfecting in main areas, restock restrooms, and check parking lot cleanliness
• Handle small maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs and filters
• Greet and assist church members, visitors, and staff politely
• Complete work orders and log hours in the online system

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Able to work on weekends
• Willing to learn how to use audio/visual equipment for presentations
• Can speak and write clearly in English
• Able to lift and push up to 50 lbs regularly
• Physically fit for tasks like lifting, walking, and bending
• Basic computer skills
• Can pass a background check and E-Verify
• Has a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation
• Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
