Full-Time Custodian (96738)

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dependable, and trustworthy individual with good customer service skills and a detail orientated to join Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM). The full-time Custodian will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and performing basic maintenance tasks in accordance with assigned duties. Applicants must successfully pass a background check.

Big Island (Waikoloa, HI 96738)

Key Responsibilities:

Clean, sweep, mop, and disinfect tables, chairs, windowsills, glass windows, and countertops

Dust common areas, including hallways, stairways, food courts, and restrooms (ensure toilet seats and urinals are cleaned)

Restock cleaning supplies

Ability to stand and work in warm/hot weather

Multi-task and work efficiently, both independently and within a team

Adhere to safety procedures Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service at all times

Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers

Report safety issues or building problems (e.g., burnt light bulbs)

Notify the appropriate HBM employee regarding supplies and equipment needed for cleaning tasks

Perform all other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

Successful completion of a background check is required.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Previous experience as a custodian or in a related field is advantageous, though training will be provided.

Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions in English.

Strong public relations and communication skills are necessary.

Applicants should be prepared to perform basic manual labor, maintain cleanliness in common areas, and regularly lift, press, push, pull, and carry a minimum of 50-100lbs.

Physical capabilities must include reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, walking, and standing throughout shifts.

Schedule: Thursday to Monday 2:00pm-10:30pm (Days off: Tuesday and Wednesday)

Compensation: $20.00/per hour
