Full-Time Custodian/Maintenance (Waianae)

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual. The ideal candidate should excel in customer service and have a keen eye for detail, as the role involves repairing and maintaining a commercial building in Downtown Oahu. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle for work. They must also pass a background check. Full-Time Custodian/Maintenance

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: basic plumbing, light electrical, painting/patching, drywall, carpentry, clean gutters, use of concrete, cleaning restrooms/showers and grounds maintenance.

Excellent customer service skills to interact with on-site managers, property managers, vendors, customers, etc. 

Involves constant movement, standing, walking, bending, and able to stretch during shifts

Able to lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs up to 75lbs 

Report mechanical equipment and ensure systems are working in order and fixed as necessary. 

Create and maintain work orders

Create and maintain purchase orders 

Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by HBM supervisor/property management

Skills/Qualifications:

Must pass background check

High school diploma/GED 

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle

Ability to work a flexible schedule

General preventative maintenance experience preferred

Troubleshooting abilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English

Must have good public relations skills and communication

Customer service oriented Strong organizational skills

Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 50lbs (up to 75lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, walk up and down a stairway, climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift.

Schedule: 2 locations Monday to Friday: 5am-1:30pm (Must be available in the event of emergencies)

1) MAILI: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 5am- 1:30pm

2) NANAKULI: Tuesday and Thursday: 5am - 1:30pm

Compensation: $20.00/per hour
