Full-Time Floater (PCA/CNA experience Required)

The Personal Care Assistant is a member of the health care team who works directly under the supervision of the DON and performs various services for the client, the majority of which are personal care (activities of daily living). The Personal Care Assistant is assigned to assist in a manner that will promote a quality, safe environment for the client. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a minimum of six months to one year experience as an aide (preferably in the home care setting). Must display good emotional and physical health and must be able to tolerate standing, bending, stooping, and heavy lifting. Must meet all agency requirements, including tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.

· Performs only under the supervision of the Director of Nursing who has provided written instructions for the client care (care plan).

· Assists the client with personal care needs.

· Prepares simple nutritious meals within the client’s diet when necessary.

· Performs light housekeeping chores, which facilitates client’s self-care in the home care setting (eg. vacuuming, laundry, shopping, dusting, mopping, dishes, make unoccupied bed)

· Pay bills as directed by client and makes doctor appointments for client.

· Meets the safety needs of the client and self and uses equipment safely and properly (ei. bedrails and assistive devices)

· Shops for groceries, medications, and essential needs by client’s verbal or written instructions

· Observes the client for general physical, emotional, and mental condition and reports changes to the DON

· Completes records accurately and carries out all assignments as required.

Expectations:

· Must be available for a minimum of 40 hours, Monday through Sunday)

· Must be flexible.

· Must be able to work in various environments (IE: with animals, clients smoking, Male and Female clients)

· Must maintain reliable transportation.

· Must be available to see multiple clients per each day and have experience working as either a CNA or PCA.
