Full-Time Handyman

City Wide Facility Solutions is actively seeking a Handyman for our location in Carol Stream, IL.

City Wide Facility Solutions, the nation’s leading management company in the building maintenance industry, provides solutions to a wide range of issues clients face at their facilities.

The Handyman is responsible for the upkeep and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities at their assigned location. Their duties include performing routine inspections, diagnosing issues, and conducting repairs on various systems like mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. They also play a crucial role in preventative maintenance, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.

Essential functions

· Conduct minor maintenance and repairs, including tasks such as fixing doors, replacing light fixtures, mending furniture, hanging pictures, and repairing faucets.

· Evaluate the building, office, and facility equipment to assess functionality, and report any issues to the facility manager and property owners as needed.

· Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and document the results.

· Oversee the management of work order tickets, prioritizing tasks based on the facility's requirements.

· Supervise vendors and contractors performing work within the facility.

· Clean and maintain offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, cafeterias, corridors, and general workspaces.

· Rearrange, install, set up, and remount furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting fixtures, and file cabinets to meet user needs and optimize space.

· Assist in the setup and breakdown for company events, meetings, and similar activities.

· Capable of patching and painting common walls, doors, and other surfaces.

· Maintain exterior employee areas, such as picnic and smoking areas.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

· Flexibility to work varying hours as needed.

· High School diploma

· Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel)

· A customer service-oriented mindset and a collaborative team spirit are essential

· Responsibilities must be performed following company and site safety protocols

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance

· Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
