Full-Time K5 Social Worker (Illinois School District)

Our Organization is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join an elementary school team in Illinois for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their emotional, behavioral, and social development within a collaborative school environment.

As a School Social Worker, you’ll serve as a critical bridge between students, families, and educators—providing direct support to help remove barriers to learning and promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school culture. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to address a wide range of student needs and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavioral support plans.

In this position, you will provide individual and group counseling services to support students' mental health, behavior, and social-emotional learning. You will conduct assessments and offer recommendations based on each student’s unique needs. In collaboration with teachers, families, and support staff, you’ll help design and implement interventions that promote academic achievement and positive social development. You’ll actively participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans. Maintaining accurate records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines is essential. Additionally, you’ll serve as a vital liaison between the school and community agencies, helping connect families to valuable resources and support systems.

To qualify for this position, candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program and possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Work endorsement. Applicants should have successfully completed a 600-hour supervised internship within a school setting and passed the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) exam for School Social Workers. Ideal candidates will bring strong skills in collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving to effectively support students, families, and school staff.
