Pay: $34.62–$38.46 per hour ($72,000–$80,000 annually)

Position Overview
Photon Medical Group, a physician-owned healthcare practice and direct clinical employer, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for an onsite employee health clinic at a designated San Francisco service location.
This full-time W-2 clinical role combines phlebotomy, vaccine administration, outpatient patient care, and daily clinic readiness in a professional workplace setting. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and support accurate specimen collection, labeling, processing, storage, and transport.
- Administer vaccines and injections in accordance with written orders, clinical protocols, documented competency, and applicable onsite requirements.
- Welcome and prepare patients, obtain vital signs, and document relevant intake information.
- Assist with EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other routine procedures when trained and authorized.
- Prepare examination areas and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.
- Enter accurate and timely information in the electronic health record.
- Support patient follow-up, referrals, scheduling, and organized daily patient flow.
- Monitor supplies, medications, expiration dates, and equipment.
- Follow infection-control, privacy, and safety procedures and promptly escalate clinical or operational concerns.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant education or training program that meets applicable California requirements.
- At least three years of recent outpatient clinical experience.
- Strong, current venipuncture and specimen-handling skills, with the ability to perform blood draws confidently.
- Recent vaccine- or injection-administration experience.
- Current BLS or CPR certification.
- Experience with patient intake, vital signs, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and routine clinical services.
- Accurate documentation, strong attention to detail, and a professional, patient-centered communication style.
- Comfort using an electronic health record and standard office technology.
- Ability to work onsite in San Francisco for the full stated schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or another recognized Medical Assistant credential.
- Experience in workplace health, occupational health, primary care, preventive care, or a smaller outpatient clinic.
- Experience supporting clinic readiness, inventory, patient flow, or referrals.
Clinical Scope
Medical Assistants perform permitted technical services within their documented education, training, and competency. Injections and vaccine administration require appropriate written authorization and the onsite conditions required by applicable law. Medical Assistants do not independently assess, diagnose, or make treatment decisions. Licensed clinicians remain responsible for clinical decisions.
