Summary:
A bit about us: We are a busy and active family in Kirkland with two school-aged children who love music, creativity, and spending time together. Our 12yo daughter is social, artistic, and enjoys activities like drums, friends, and cross country, while our 9yo son loves piano, remote control cars, and video games. We value connection as a family, especially sharing meals and meaningful conversations, and are looking for someone who can become a fun, engaging presence in our children’s summer. Our ideal summer includes a mix of structured activities and flexibility, with plenty of opportunities for the kids to stay active, explore new interests, and get out of their routines.

A bit about you: You bring a fun, youthful energy and know how to connect with school-aged kids in a way that feels natural and engaging. You are creative and proactive, able to motivate kids to try new things and balance screen time with active, enriching experiences. You are confident setting boundaries while still keeping things fun, and you know how to “meet kids where they are” to build trust and rapport. You’re outgoing, active, and can come up with ideas that make kids excited to participate. Bonus points if you can support light academic engagement in a fun, low-pressure way.

Job Duties: Plan and lead engaging daily activities, including 1–2 outings or structured activities each day to keep the kids active and entertained. Provide transportation for activities (including picking up from summer classes) and supervise playdates or outings as needed. Support light academic activities such as reading, practicing math skills, or library visits. Assist with meal and snack supervision (especially supporting a child who enjoys cooking), and handle light household tasks such as dishes, tidying up, and taking out the trash. Location: Kirkland, 98033
Position Highlights: Excellent pay package. Fantastic city location. Guaranteed 30 hours per week. Use of family vehicle or mileage reimbursements for outings. Activity budget provided. Flexible, fun summer role with focus on creativity and engagement.
Qualifications:

Experience with school-aged children
Energetic, engaging, and able to connect with older kids
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Comfortable planning activities and outings independently
Able to set boundaries around screen time and routines
Willingness to assist with light household tasks
Glowing references from recent nanny positions.

Ability to make light academics fun and engaging
Some flexibility during family travel and potential overlap with visiting grandparents (July 20–24)

Schedule: M-F 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Pay: $32-35

Working Conditions and Requirements:

Work environment will be active, kid-centric and includes clean up of activities
Part of each day may be spent outside, weather permitting, and will be active play
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Position involves regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching and pushing
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
- Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
- May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner
