Job Description - Functional Area Analyst II (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is seeking a Functional Area Analyst II to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Transaction Application Suite (TAS) program. This position will also support Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System (MUMPS) code in support of releases within the VA's Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

Analyze business user needs and document them as epics and decompose epics into user stories and tasks as needed by the agile scrum teams.

Analyze the information system baseline and perform a gap analysis between the baseline, user operational requirements, and the operating capability of products.

Translates customer requirements into the best fit within the application and supports configuration and development of Appian BPM products, processes, and documentation.

Develop and maintain standard systems requirement documents, including but not limited to business process workflows, Functional Requirements Documents, Requirement Traceability Matrix, and use cases.

Support and implement complex enterprise system configurations and end-to-end development design.

Create business process models and identify business process improvements.

Review and comment on the proposed functional/capability configuration for each of the product modules.

Define and evaluate test scenarios based on requirements; create test scripts to prove each scenario through system and user acceptance testing.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related discipline with 5+ years (or commensurate experience).

5+ years of business analysis and requirements-gathering skills in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

3+ years of functional experience in the requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of Appian or a similar product.

Functional experience with products in the landscape of BPM, Case management, process automation, and workflow management.

Experience with Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System (MUMPS) code in support of releases within the VA's Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA).

Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Transaction Application Suite (TAS) programs.

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and succeed working in agile teams.

Experience creating user stories, use case diagrams, mockups, and process flow charts for gathering requirements from customers/external stakeholders.

Facilitate workshops, conduct interviews, and JAD sessions for requirements gathering using tools like Jira and Confluence.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience in the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA)

Experience with architectural frameworks (DODAF, FEAF)

HL7 FHIR Certification/HL7 International

Certified EDI Professional (or equivalent)

Ability to obtain a government clearance
