Functional Family Therapist

QMHP-T, LMHP-E, Resident in Counseling, Supervisee in Social Work required.

Strategic Therapy Associates is seeking a Resident in Counseling or a Licensed Mental Health Professional to become certified as a Functional Family Therapist to provide mental health counseling services to children/adolescents and their families. The Resident in Counseling or Qualified Mental Health Professional will carry a caseload of 10 or more children/families and must be able to travel within an hour's drive to provide mental health counseling.  To qualify applicants must have (or be able to obtain) a certification in Functional Family Therapy. Strategic Therapy Associates will pay the cost to certify the right candidate for the position (value over $1700).  Free clinical supervision toward professional licensure for a Resident in Counseling may also be available to qualified candidates.    

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Functional Family Therapist works with families of adolescents between the ages of 10-18, and at minimum, provides 1 hour per week of home-based, family-oriented mental health counseling sessions to clients and families using the Functional Family Therapy evidence-based treatment model.  The Functional Family Therapist is required to carry a caseload of 10 to 15 families, with the duration services ranging from 8 to 26 weeks depending on the needs and progress of each family.  The position requires flexibility in hours to be able to meet with families when they are available.  The Functional Family Therapist must complete all service-related documentation in accordance with governing regulations, agency standards, and the FFT evidence-based practice standards.

• Qualified candidates will be registered (or eligible to register) as Resident in Counseling (LMHP-R), or a Supervisee in Social Work (LMHP-S) with the Virginia Board of Health Professions.
