This position is on-site at our Corporate Resource Center (2061 Collier Parkway, Land O'Lakes, Florida 34639) Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Fundraising Event Specialist plans, develops, organizes, and participates in a comprehensive schedule of special events in support of both private and public sector fundraising activities on behalf of Gulfside Healthcare Services. The Fundraising Event Specialist will maintain records on events, report data as required, and assist with other Development projects as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year experience coordinating fundraising events required; three (3) years preferred.
Experience monitoring project budgets and expenditures.
Previous experience in Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize all aspects of fundraising special events from implementation to conclusion and wrap up.
Assist Development department’s efforts to achieve event net income targets by operating within pre-approved budget and expense management guidelines.
Adhere to mandatory event protocols to maintain the integrity and success of each event assigned.
Ensure implementation of data collection for each income activity including income/expense records and donor/volunteer information.
Develop and maintain key relationships with community businesses, community leaders and high potential volunteers for increasing event participation, revenue growth, community awareness and volunteer engagement.
Maintain and communicate budget/expenditure reports and event activity reports to appropriate staff members.
Maintain record of event-related contact management in Raiser’s Edge/NXT.
Participate actively in development and planning of fundraising event strategies.
Participate in weekend meetings and/or events as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be comfortable working with financial calculations and statistics attention to detail in composing, typing and meeting deadlines.
Proficient in a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
