Job Description - Furniture Installer / Warehouse Coordinator

 The Furniture Installer/Warehouse Coordinator has a hands-on role, responsible for supporting furniture installations, warehouse operations, and overall project execution. This position works closely with installation crews, warehouse staff, project managers, and designers to ensure furniture is delivered, assembled, and installed safely, accurately, and professionally. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and thrives in a team environment while also being able to work independently in the field or warehouse.


In addition to installation and warehouse responsibilities, this role offers a growth path toward future leadership opportunities. An individual in this position will receive training in operational processes, inventory management, and team development, with the goal of assisting in building and leading an in-house installation team as the business grows.


KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Installation (Field Work – 40%)

  • Assist crews with product loading/offloading in the field and warehouse.
  • Conduct furniture installations following manufacturer guidelines and best practices.
  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and fastening of installed furniture.
  • Load and unload tools and equipment required for daily installations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with internal departments and represent the company professionally on job sites.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Attend product training sessions and develop skills in reading blueprints and installation plans.
  • Report installation progress or issues to the Project Manager and document completed work.

Warehouse Operations (On-Site – 40%)

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming furniture and components.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with audits as needed.
  • Prepare furniture and equipment for delivery and installation.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment (training available).
  • Uphold cleanliness, safety, and organization standards in the warehouse.

Leadership Development (20%)

  • Work closely with internal teams to learn logistics, scheduling, and process management.
  • Participate in workflow planning and inventory tracking.
  • Assist in building and developing an in-house team of installers.
  • Take initiative in improving operations and efficiencies.
  • Train to eventually assume responsibility for day-to-day warehouse operations and team leadership

·    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical aptitude and a vision for assembling office furniture
  • Basic computer, reading, writing, and math skills
  •   Experience working with subcontractors or diverse teams is a plus
  •   Physically able to lift 50+ lbs., reach overhead, and perform repetitive motions
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  •   Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or in a team
  •  Positive, team-oriented attitude with a customer-first mindset
  • Willingness to develop communication skills and collaborate with internal teams
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical lift test
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must have a valid State of Indiana driver’s license
  • Must have clean driving record

 

Education / Experience / Other Requirements

  • High school diploma, required
  • 2+ years of experience in furniture installation, carpentry, construction, skilled trades, or warehouse roles
