POSITION OVERVIEW
The Future Ready program equips students with the academic and/or vocational & job skills they need to overcome obstacles on their way to college graduation and their future employment pursuits. Future Ready staff focus on supporting young adults ages 16-24 with a goal of growing the number of youth served from 20 clients in 2024, to 100 by the end of 2026. While our program includes counseling on how to apply, complete financial aid forms and choose the right college, we also develop our students' social and emotional skills, including how to ask for help, access resources, build support networks, and maintain confidence. The Future Ready Program supports its students to and through college graduation. Students opting to pursue certification for other careers, such as the trades, or the military also receive support from club staff.
The Future Ready Program Coach (Impact Lead II) works with the Future Ready Coordinator to provide the resources, support, tools, and navigational skills students need to successfully pursue and complete higher education, vocational training, and career exploration. The Future Ready Impact Lead II works with a caseload of post secondary students to help them with the college application process, their post secondary plans and play a key role in ensuring seamless implementation of the Future Ready Program. This program addresses the need for quality college advising in communities where few parents have attended college and where first-generation youth are not receiving the services they need to achieve their postsecondary goals.
