Gardener

Description

Purpose of Position:  

Responsibilities include general grounds and garden maintenance.  Other duties may include special event preparation and breakdown of tents and furnishings.  Job is seasonal, May through September.  Work schedule is 4-5 days per week, 8 hours per day, no weekends.  

Essential Functions:  

• Provide working, hands-on gardening/landscaping for historical gardens, other gardens, landscaping, and grounds
• Oversee greenhouse and ancillary landscape/gardening operations
• Assist with managing gardening volunteers
• Assist with event set-up and teardown with event coordinator
• Promote gardening/landscaping at Museum and with general public
• Assist grounds crew with snow removal, sidewalk salting, mowing grass, etc.
• Perform other tasks as required

Requirements

• The ability to work in all weather conditions.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work well with a team.
• Driver’s license
