Do you love the great outdoors? Cragun's Resort is looking for self-motivated Grounds Crew Members to join our team for 2025!

Gardening Groundskeeper is responsible for but not limited to:

• Weeding and Mulching: Removing weeds and applying mulch to flowerbeds and around plants. 
• Pruning and Deadheading: Trimming shrubs and trees, pruning. and removing dead or faded flowers to promote healthy growth. 
• Path and Walkway Clearing: Removing debris and litter from paths, walkways, and entrances.  
• Watering and Fertilizing: Ensuring plants receive adequate water and nutrients. 
• Pest and Disease Control: Identifying and addressing any issues that may affect plant health. 
• Seasonal Planting and Maintenance: Preparing and planting seasonal flowers and plants, and maintaining existing plantings.  
• Identifying and Reporting Hazards: Recognizing and reporting any potential safety hazards, such as overgrown areas or fallen branches. 
• Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensuring that the resort grounds are free from hazards and maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.  
• Understanding plant life cycles: Knowledge of germination, growth stages, flowering, fruiting, and seed dispersal.
• Basic plant processes: Familiarity with photosynthesis, respiration, and nutrient uptake.
• Plant anatomy: Understanding the structure of roots, stems, leaves, and flowers, and their functions

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven horticultural knowledge, sequencing, and practical process knowledge. Minimum of one season’s experience in the field of professional gardening, softscape, professional horticulture, or related field. 
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years or older to operate company vehicles.
• Must have valid drivers license with clean driving record.
• Subject to background check
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Bend, sit, squat, stand, walk for 6+ hrs per day
• Aval on weekends.
• Must be aval to accommodate a 7-4pm work schedule.
• Motivated, detail oriented, and can work independently 
• Follow dress code policies for the position.
