WEEKLY SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday
SHIFT: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
SECOND SHIFT: 3:30 pm to 11:30 PM
PAY: $19 hourly / plus OT

POSITION SUMMARY

Gate Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. Record incoming transports, maintain log book of all entrances and exits from the premisis, nightly rounds, enforce access to premisis procedures, check bags and containers on periodic basis for theft. Good written and communication skills.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

• Patrol industrial or commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.

Climbing in and out of the back of trucks and trailers

• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

• Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours or when switchboard is closed.

• Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.

• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.

• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.

• Log incoming and outgoing deliveries in company KEYZ system. Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles for proper load content. Review BOL's and paperwork to insure proper deliveries per paperwork.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Site Security

Experience: 1 plus years of experience in safety in an Industrial Setting, Knowledge and training as security personnel is a plus

Computer Skills: Ability to learn rudimentary computer skills for logging in of transport vehicles in custome software. Awareness and comfort with email applications and word processing applications

Certifications & Licenses: CPR or other emergency response certifications required; Permitted to carry a firearm required. Current training certification in these areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The security position will primarily work in a heated and cooled gatehouse and away from direct weather conditions, however some exposure to weather extremes will be required during rounds, truck inspection or emergency calls. Access to some areas of the environment are by stairs and/or ladders.
