Join Our Team as a General Accountant in Construction!

Location: Uptown (free parking) + 1 day remote
Salary: $60K-$75K (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (flexible with schedule)

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for numbers and a knack for problem-solving with experience in the construction industry? We're seeking a General Accountant to join our team and handle a wide range of accounting responsibilities under GAAP and corporate controller support-related tasks. This role offers the opportunity for remote work and competitive pay based on experience.

Core Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivables: Ensure accurate posting of customer invoices, receipt of payments, and application to respective projects. Correct billing errors, post deposits, and manage customer change orders.

Accounts Payables: Enter vendor and subcontractor invoices, track lien waivers and certificates of insurance, and ensure accurate posting to projects for check run.

General Ledger: Record various transactions to track financial data, including funds transfers, monthly G&A expenses, and depreciation.

Reporting & Processes: Provide reporting to corporate controller and executives, manage monthly financial processing dates, and support other accounting staff.

Additional Projects: Perform additional work as requested by corporate controller and accounting department.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience: 6+ years of proven experience in accounting roles within the construction industry.

Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with accounts receivable and payable processes.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous review of financial data and ability to identify and correct errors.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset to identify issues and propose solutions independently or with minimal supervision.

Flexibility and Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and handle additional projects as required.

Ethical Standards: Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and security of financial data.

Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide support to other members of the accounting department.
