This position advises executives, leadership, board members, and employees on laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to the Credit Union. This includes regulatory compliance, contracts, litigation, insurance and risk management, intellectual property, governance, consumer and commercial lending and deposit transactions and loan documentation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and general corporate matters. This position oversees the work of outside counsel and litigation, as appropriate. This position is responsible for ensuring the Credit Union complies with all laws and regulations while still effectively accomplishing its strategic mission.

Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school and an active member of the Idaho Bar Association. 12+ years of legal experience or corporate in-housework. Substantial knowledge of the financial services industry with understanding of lending, contracts, regulatory compliance, third party risk, examinations and board level governance. Ability to work with external attorneys, executives and/or managers. Ability to always maintain the confidentiality of the Credit Union and member records. Ability to effectively analyze and make decisions and be able to exercise sound judgment and discretion in developing, applying, and interpreting policies, procedures and the law.
Performance Standard:
Manage the legal risks of the Credit Union and a well-organized legal function. Make recommendations to meet the goals and objectives of the Credit Union functions, procedures, and policies. Ensure the credit union operates with the law, manages risk and is able to achieve its strategies and mission. Ability to organize and work under pressure. Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.
