About the Role
The Company is in search of a General Counsel to join their team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned legal professional with over 15 years of experience in the financial services, payments, or FinTech industries. The role involves providing legal support across all business units, serving as a trusted business partner to management, and participating as a key member of the leadership team. The General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing a legal team, advising senior executives and the Board, and ensuring the company's compliance with legal requirements as a NASDAQ-listed entity.Key responsibilities for the General Counsel include reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of agreements, supporting M&A activities, and managing litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree and be admitted to practice law in Florida or another state. Experience in a similar role within a publicly traded company, as well as a proven track record of effectively managing risk and legal budgets, is essential. The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including C-level executives, regulators, and board members, is also a critical requirement. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred, and international experience is a plus. The role demands a dynamic individual who can anticipate and mitigate legal risks and is comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
