Job Summary:

The General Labor in the Repack Department is responsible for sorting, grading, repacking, labeling and preparing fresh peppers for shipment in accordance with company quality standards and food safety guidelines. This role supports daily production goals while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sort and inspect produce for quality, size, color and defects according to company standards


• Repack produce into designated packaging


• Apply labels, date codes, and product identification accurately


• Remove damaged or non-conforming product from the production line


• Assemble boxes and prepare finished product for palletizing


• Follow good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety and sanitation procedures


• Company with company policies, including safety and attendance standards


• Assist with general warehouse or production tasks as needed


• Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift


• Continuously monitor and maintain work area clean, including keeping floors clear of debris such as broken wood, splinters, cardboard, plastic wrap and packaging materials.

Requirements and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• No previous experience required; produce, warehouse or food manufacturing operations preferred


• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety preferred


• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team


• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate keen attention to detail

Working Conditions

• Hours of work may vary depending on business needs.; flexibility required


• This job operates in a refrigerated warehouse, where temperatures range from 45-55°F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery, and forklift truck operation


• Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms


• The position requires the ability to regularly lift to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds
