General Labor job summary
Perform tasks involving physical labor for manufacturing projects. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare projects, clean up debris and remove excess materials. Potential to learn operating of fabrication machinery.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Assist with the assembly, tear down or repair or various fabricated parts through established manufacturing processes.
- Use a variety of machinery as needed
- Complete documentation of all work performed
- Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products
- Utilize hand-held tools such as a hand-held screw gun, drill gun, and grinders
- Operate calipers, tape measures, and other various methods of measuring parts.
- Prepare skids and package parts for shipping
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Rework and/or repair parts and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Complete company provided training to effectively perform required job responsibilities
Qualification requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
Physical demands and abilities
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane
