Optiline Enterprises is a drywall and metal framing contractor with over $100M in annual revenue, building commercial and residential projects across New England, Florida, the Carolinas, and Tennessee.
Our mission: to positively impact the lives of people in the construction industry through opportunities.
Our vision: to become a $1B company by 2034.
Our core values: Family · Own It · Dependable · Passionate · Relationship · Integrity · Innovative · Safety
We don't just build projects. We build people, opportunities, and a better industry - and that starts with the team behind the numbers.
The role
Growth on the jobsite means growth in the ledger. As our project and transaction volume climbs toward that $1B goal, we're adding a General Ledger Accountant to our seven-person finance team, reporting to the Controller.
This is a hands-on, generalist seat built for coverage and consistency. You'll bring strength in reconciliations and reporting, confidence in Excel, and AP and AR exposure that keeps the whole department moving. You'll work alongside an experienced team across the general ledger, payables, receivables, and the close - a broad view of the business and a strong group to learn from.
As Optiline grows, so does this seat. Opportunity is our mission, and it applies to the office as much as the field.
What you'll do
Account reconciliations: Run monthly bank and cash reconciliations, research reconciling items, and resolve variances with clear support.
Accounts receivable: Apply customer payments, resolve unapplied cash and short pays, and keep the aging accurate for the customers we serve.
Accounts payable: Enter and code vendor invoices and support the payables cycle as volume requires, so our vendors and crews can count on us.
Month-end close support: Prepare and post recurring and accrual journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, tie subledgers to the general ledger, and maintain the close checklist.
General ledger integrity: Hold the line on chart of accounts discipline, investigate unusual balances, and keep account detail clean and well supported.
Process documentation: Document the procedures you run and help build consistent, well-controlled accounting practices that scale with us.
You'll shape these responsibilities with the Controller as you come up to speed.
What we're looking for
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
3+ years of full-cycle general ledger accounting, including month-end close
Real depth in account reconciliation: you can explain a variance, not just flag one
Hands-on accounts payable experience, including high-volume invoice entry and coding
Working knowledge of an ERP system and comfort learning a new one
Intermediate Excel: lookups, pivot tables, reconciling large exports
Preferred
Experience with a mid-market ERP; Acumatica a plus but not required
Construction, subcontractor, or other project-based accounting background
Comfort with AI tools and a willingness to experiment with them to sharpen how the work gets done
Experience documenting procedures or building close checklists
An analytical streak and an eye for detail - you notice the number that doesn't belong and enjoy chasing it down
