The General Maintenance and Shop Assistant at SDC is a detail-oriented individual that is reliable and hard-working and will assist in day-to-day operations in our shop and offices.

What You’ll Do:

Shop and Office Maintenance & Cleanliness

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of:
• General shop space, including sweep and clean floors, empty trash, and ensure a tidy work environment
• Kitchen and breakroom, including loading vending machines, monitor inventory, empty trash
• Office spaces, including entryways, meeting rooms, common areas, maintaining and organizing office supply inventory, refill printer paper

Equipment and Building Maintenance

• Maintain company and plant equipment
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues
• Maintain building facilities, including performing basic repairs and enhancements to support a functional, safe and attractive working environment

Material Handling & Production Support

• Assist manufacturing in preparing and finishing stock material and custom parts, including saw cutting and basic machining
• Support machine operators and technicians with setup, material loading, and part handling related to open projects
• Ensure proper organization and availability of materials, tools, and components for machine assembly and production
• Operate material handling equipment, including tow motors and overhead cranes
• Operate power tools as needed

Shipping & Receiving

• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading/unloading pallets and handling deliveries

Assist with other activities as requested. 

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, industry standards and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to support overtime, as needed
