Our General Maintenance Worker assists with the general maintenance of all Sterling Automotive Group properties in Lafayette, Broussard, Abbeville, Opelousas, and Jennings, LA.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including landscaping, grass cutting, and groundskeeping to keep dealership exteriors well-maintained
Handle light plumbing and electrical work, such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and changing ballasts/outlets
Conduct monthly preventative maintenance on dealership facilities, including checking and replacing light bulbs, air filters, and other minor repairs
Assist the IT department by running network cables and helping with basic wiring tasks
Support seasonal maintenance, including snow removal, leaf blowing, and minor exterior repairs
Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and comply with dealership standards
Always adhere to safety standards and company protocols
Qualifications & Job Requirements:
Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or a similar role preferred but not required
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems is required
Ability to operate lawn care equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers) safely
Comfortable using hand tools and power tools for repairs
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license required along with a clean driving record
Must be at least 21 years old, or have 3 years of driving experience
Must be willing to submit to pre-employment background check & drug screen
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required
Schedule: Full-time, may require occasional weekends as needed.
