General Maintenance Worker

We are looking for a general maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. Youwill be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensuring facilities are tidy and functional. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The General Maintenance Worker will have experience and solid technical knowledge and must possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

Duties & Responsibilities:

● Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.

● Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls etc.

● Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues

● Install appliances and equipment when necessary

● Do yard upkeep by collecting trash

● Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs

● Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation)

● Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm)

● Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations

● Report to a facility or operation manager for issues

Required Skills & Abilities:

● Proven experience the similar position

● Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems

● Experience using hand and electrical tools

● Ability to read technical manuals and drawings

● Very good communication and interpersonal skills

● Physical stamina and dexterity

● High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

1. Regularly required to stand; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.

2. Frequently it is required to walk.

3. Occasionally required to stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is required to sit and talk and hear.

Other physical requirements include:

1. Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling or bending positions.

2. Ability to work with arms above head.

3. Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.

4. Ability to safely use specified hand, air, power tools, and machinery.

5. Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.

6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Hand-Eye coordination.

7. Must not be allergic to smoke, paint, grinding and fiberglass dust.

8. Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions.
