Job Description - General Manager

GENERAL MANAGER

Our team of experts specializes in mitigating and rebuilding residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storms, and other disasters. We work with leading insurance carriers, handling everything from cleanup to complete rebuilds, with a focus on safety, integrity, and advocacy. As the General Manager for Merit Restorations, you will be responsible for leading the overall operations of the branch, ensuring high standards of quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role requires a visionary leader dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence while meeting and exceeding company goals.

 

GENERAL MANAGER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leadership and Team Development: Direct and mentor branch teams, instilling a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and adherence to company values. Foster an environment of professional growth and continuous improvement.

 

Employee Management: Lead the hiring, onboarding, and training of team members. Evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and career development opportunities. Make staffing decisions, including promotions, transfers, and terminations, aligned with company policies.

 

Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth operation of restoration projects, from initiation to completion. Oversee project workflows, timelines, and quality standards. Develop and implement strategies to optimize branch efficiency and productivity.

 

Quality and Risk Management: Uphold and advance the highest standards of quality in all restoration projects. Identify and mitigate operational risks to ensure successful outcomes. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture.

 

Client and Community Relations: Serve as the face of the branch, building and maintaining strong client relationships. Represent Merit Restorations positively within the community.

 

Financial and Budget Management: Manage branch budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with financial goals. Implement cost-control measures while maintaining service quality.

 

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and improve operational processes for enhanced efficiency and service delivery. Stay updated on industry trends, restoration practices, and client expectations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proven experience in leadership roles within restoration, construction, or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with restoration processes, including estimating and job costing.
