Job Description - General Manager

The General Manager is a supervisory role responsible for the operations and management of all aspects of multiple cigar and tobacco retail stores. This role is defined as the leader for store management, which requires sound decision making combined with the ability to effectively lead store personnel, and practice intelligent and effective business techniques. The General Manager is the spokesperson, point-of-contact and major representative for all community, industry, and business-related activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Builds and leads a cohesive team of store managers and store personnel. 2. Trains and supervises store managers and sales associates by assigning tasks, setting goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback. 3. Leads by example. 4. Promotes a positive environment conducive for continuous improvement and excellent customer service. 5. Communicates company policies, initiatives, and promotions to all staff in an organized, timely, and effective manner. 6. Holds monthly management meetings prepared with well-thought agendas and sales reports. Sets monthly goals for stores and communicates company programs and initiatives. 7. Maintains and ensures that the business continues to operate at a high performance level and implements company programs to drive growth. 8. Represents the company as the spokesperson and General Manager throughout the community and industry in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic manner. 9. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the company. 10. Ensures newly-hired staff is trained on company/store procedures and policies. 11. Ensures all employees are in compliance with company policies outlined in the company handbook. 12. Develops and leads all employees in store merchandising tactics, including display, signage, positioning, organization, etc. 13. Approves store staffing schedules to cover store operation hours based on allocated personnel hours, business levels, and annual budget. 14. Prepares and completes payroll reports on a bi-weekly schedule. 15. Responsible for the administration and organization of store personnel documentation. 16. Responsible for drafting employee performance reviews and providing compensation recommendations. 17. Responsible for administering employee performance reviews in a timely manner.



Compensation: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
