Champions Retreat Golf Club

Position Summary:

Champions Retreat Golf Club seeks an exceptional hospitality executive to serve as General Manager of one of the most distinctive private club destinations in North America.

Champions Retreat combines elevated culinary experiences, luxury accommodations, championship golf, and the timeless traditions of Southern hospitality.  Following a significant multi-phase transformation and investment initiative, the Club is entering a new era focused on delivering an unparalleled member and guest experience while establishing its position among the nation’s most respected private club and hospitality destinations.  Champions Retreat is much more than a golf club, possessing destination experiences through lodging, food and beverage venues, racquet sports and wellness, and world-class golf.

Reporting to senior leadership of Arcis Golf, the General Manager serves as the de facto chief executive officer of the Club and is responsible for executing the strategic vision, operational excellence, financial performance, culture, and service philosophy of the organization. The GM needs to be an adaptive, experience-driven innovator that is a cross-functional catalyst of the overall member and guest experience – delivering through a diverse team across golf, hospitality, lodging, food and beverage, agronomy, facilities, membership, and administrative functions while fostering an environment of excellence, innovation, and genuine care.

The successful candidate will be a visible, relationship-driven leader who understands the expectations of discerning members and guests and possesses a demonstrated track record leading luxury hospitality, resort, private club, or destination experiences at the highest level. This individual will embody gracious hospitality, inspire exceptional team performance, and ensure every aspect of the Champions Retreat experience reflects sophistication, authenticity, and uncompromising quality.

Executive Leadership Responsibilities:

Vision, Strategy & Brand Stewardship

  • Serve as the principal steward of the Champions Retreat brand, reputation, and member experience.
  • Establish and execute a long-term strategic vision that positions Champions Retreat among the premier private club and hospitality destinations in the world.
  • Partner with corporate leadership on strategic planning, capital investments, growth initiatives, and market positioning.
  • Champion a culture of excellence that honors the Club’s traditions while embracing innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all experiences, amenities, facilities, and service standards reflect a luxury hospitality mindset.

Luxury Hospitality & Experience Leadership

  • Curate and oversee a highly personalized service culture designed to exceed expectations and create lasting emotional connections with members and guests.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the property, actively engaging with members, guests, partners and team members.
  • Lead the integration of lodging, culinary, wellness, recreation, social experiences, and into a seamless luxury lifestyle offering.
  • Establish service standards and operating philosophies comparable to leading luxury hospitality organizations and destination clubs.
  • Ensure every touchpoint reflects exceptional attention to detail, anticipation of needs, and genuine hospitality.

Talent & Culture

  • Build and sustain a culture recognized for service excellence, accountability, professionalism, and employee engagement.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop exceptional leadership talent throughout the organization.
  • Create an environment where team members are empowered to deliver memorable experiences and grow professionally.
  • Serve as the cultural ambassador of the Club, modeling leadership behaviors that inspire humility, gratitude and a growth mindset.

Financial & Asset Leadership

  • Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and long-term asset value.
  • Oversee all financial planning, forecasting, capital allocation, and operational performance metrics.
  • Ensure disciplined financial management while preserving the luxury experience and member satisfaction.
  • Lead significant capital projects, facility enhancements, and property development initiatives.

Member & Community Engagement

  • Develop meaningful relationships with members, guests, community leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the face of Champions Retreat and cultivate a culture of belonging, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Enhance the Club’s reputation through exceptional experiences, thoughtful programming, and strong community relationships.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Executive leadership experience within luxury resorts, destination clubs, private clubs, five-star hospitality organizations, or integrated hospitality environments.
  • A proven record of leading complex, multi-department operations with exceptional service standards.
  • Demonstrated success managing luxury lodging, food and beverage, experiential hospitality, and golf operations.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence, relationship-building ability, and executive presence.
  • Sophisticated financial and business acumen.
  • Experience leading transformational growth, capital projects, and organizational change in high-end, luxury environments.
  • A passion for hospitality and a genuine commitment to creating extraordinary experiences for members, guests, and employees.
