The Role

The General Manager is accountable for providing an outstanding  guest experience, leading the management team, building a crew that employees want to stay with, ensuring operational excellence, and meeting financial targets at the location.

Core Responsibilities

Team Leadership:

·       Hire, onboard, and schedule crew and management

·       Conduct ongoing training for all staff on Zaxbys standards and procedures

·       Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address performance issues

·       Create a positive work culture and maintain accountability across the team

Operations:

·      Oversee all daily restaurant operations—opening, closing, and shift-to-shift execution

·       Use store management systems to track inventory, sales, and performance metrics

·       Maintain Zaxbys operational standards for quality, cleanliness, and speed of service

·       Ensure compliance with all health, food safety, regulatory, and brand requirements and prepare store for inspections

·       Manage placement and receipt of inventory orders

·       Monitor and solve operational problems in real-time

Financial Management:

·       Meet financial targets by managing labor costs against sales and conducting inventory counts and addressing variances on cost

of goods sold

·       Maintain adherence to cash control procedures, reconcile daily cash drawers and deposits, and ensure secure credit card processing

Sales & Guest Experience:

·       Inspire team members to delight guests with efficient and personable service that goes above and beyond, while modeling this approach in your own customer interactions

·       Handle guest concerns and questions

·       Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and manage staffing to maximize customer experience

Basic Qualifications

The following requirements must be met to qualify for this position

·       At least 21 years of age

·       Valid driver's license with reliable transportation

·       High school diploma or GED

·       Minimum 2+ years of restaurant management experience in a fast-food environment

·       Experience leading and developing a team of 20+ people

·       Food safety knowledge and commitment to health and sanitation standards

·       Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, basic math skills, and basic computer

Physical & Work Demands

The position requires 50+ hours per week including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. It requires standing, walking, and moving for extended periods in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be prepared to jump into operational work (food prep, other crew duties) when needed.
