General Manager – Operations (Heavy Machinery & ADTs)

Job Summary

Our Client, a Heavy Machine Company is seeking an experienced General Manager – Operations to lead and manage all activities related to heavy machinery and ADTs at a mining site. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and the effective utilization of personnel and resources.

This position requires a strategic thinker with proven operational management experience in the mining and/or heavy equipment sector. The successful candidate will drive performance, foster a strong safety culture, and lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the site's strategic and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee day-to-day operations involving heavy equipment and ADTs.
  


• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and equipment reliability.
  


• Ensure strict compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  


• Manage and mentor teams across operations, maintenance, and logistics.
  


• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with company objectives.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior operational role within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
  


• Strong knowledge of heavy machinery and ADT fleet management.
  


• Demonstrated ability in team leadership, safety compliance, and operational excellence.
  


• Prior experience working in Tanzania or East Africa is a strong advantage.
