Job Description - General Manager (Full-Service Restaurant)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead operations for a high-volume, polished casual restaurant in New Orleans, LA. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Assistant General Manager (AGM) ready to grow or a proven Restaurant General Manager looking to lead a dynamic hospitality team.

The General Manager will oversee all Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations, drive financial performance, develop team members, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong financial acumen, and a passion for hospitality.

A $2,500 Signing Bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations & Leadership

  • Oversee daily FOH and BOH restaurant operations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop management and hourly team members
  • Create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and guest-focused service
  • Organize and supervise shifts, setting daily, weekly, and monthly goals
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations

Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage revenue, profitability, and cost controls
  • Analyze weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports
  • Control operational costs and reduce waste
  • Understand key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve them
  • Forecast inventory needs for food, beverage, and supplies

Guest Experience & Community Engagement

  • Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve customer concerns promptly
  • Maintain and enhance the restaurant’s local reputation
  • Promote the restaurant through community events and local marketing initiatives
  • Ensure consistent product quality and presentation standards

Training & Team Development

  • Train new and existing team members on service standards
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Implement policies and systems to support long-term operational succes
  • Proven experience as a Restaurant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of full-service restaurant operations (FOH & BOH)
  • Demonstrated financial management and P&L responsibility
  • Experience with restaurant management software such as PosiTouch (POS), OpenTable, Restaurant 365, or similar systems
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • General food and beverage knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field preferred
