Position Overview:
SVC Engineering is seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead its metallurgical operations. The GM will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, ensuring process efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and driving strategic growth. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the Managing Director/CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end plant operations, including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and supply chain.
- Lead metallurgical process optimization for alloys like Aluminium & Zinc, and other engineered components.
- Drive operational excellence through implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all processes comply with statutory, environmental, and industry-specific standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
- Collaborate with Sales and business development teams to support product development and customization.
- Manage vendor relationships, raw material procurement, and logistics.
- Build and lead a high-performing operations team through training, mentorship, and clear leadership.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of industry experience in metallurgical or engineering manufacturing environments.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership or general management role.
- Strong understanding of metallurgical production processes, including forging, casting, heat treatment, and fabrication.
- Proven ability to manage diverse teams, budgets, and cross-functional operations.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills. Represent company in expositions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Executive Program in Business/Operations Management.
- Experience working with defense or export-oriented manufacturing preferred.
- Exposure to international quality and compliance standards.
