POSITION OVERVIEW
As a key member of the retail team, the Manager will assume a key role in managing a major component of the business while creating the customer experience of the Milk Shake Factory. The Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for all retail activities at the store. This encompasses leveraging customer insights to drive sales, implementing seasonal campaigns, managing the retail team, identifying opportunities for improvement, and creating a safe and clean environment.

Using farm fresh dairy sourced from local farms, The Milk Shake Factory serves up handspun shakes, craft sundaes, and gourmet chocolates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Takes complete ownership of the front- and back-house store operations, merchandising, workflows, sanitation, organization and customer experience
* Aids in the creation of systems for achieving store-wide operational excellence with regards to cash management, food safety, inventory control, and employee performance
* In conjunction with the EMB HR team, oversees MSF human resources functions including staff training, coaching, motivating, feedback, and retention to ensure all team members have the tools to succeed
* Schedule and staff adequately the retail store to ensure retail operations function smoothly while keeping labor costs in line with the retail budget
* In conjunction with the company accounting department, provide accurate data that shape the MSF budget
* Monitor opportunities to reduce waste on milk shake and confection inputs through continuous monitoring, documentation, and team member training on product quality and recipes
* Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the MSF environment exceeds regulatory health and safety standards
* Establish work plans and maintenance schedules that support and improve MSF equipment reliability
* Leverage consumer insights and data sources to contribute to the creation of annual and seasonal marketing campaigns that resonate with customers
* Act as the point of contact for MSF corporate and special event accounts including holiday gifts and weddings
* Work with the retail team to ensure that all security cameras, alarms, locks, and security protocols are functioning and documented on a regular basis
* Meet or exceed retail sales goals (i.e., units per transaction, dollar per transaction) through techniques that create value for the consumer and MSF (e.g., bundling, merchandising)
* Act as a brand advocate to consumers and employees by communicating the company story, history, vision, and products including those for corporate accounts and special events
* With the Director of Retail create a system for managing the Sweet Rewards loyalty program
* Ensure that all POS register systems are operational at all times
R EQUIREMENTS
* Demonstrated leadership ability with at least five years of experience in a customer-facing sales setting
* Strong track record of creating an amazing customer experience while managing successful retail or restaurant teams, brands, operations and financials
* Availability to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* College degree strongly preferred; however, extra years of experience may substitute
* Composure, positivity, flexibility, and time management ability necessary to succeed in a performance-driven retail environment
* Exceptional leadership, communication, operational, problem-solving, organizational and planning skills
* Ability to plan and prioritize workload
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Ability to lift and/or handle packaged goods and materials up to and including 25 lbs
