General Merchandise Supervisor

Description

SUMMARY OF JOB: The position provides the support to the Management Team by providing products to all customers and maintaining a conducive work environment. To accomplish these tasks, this position works closely with the Store Manager and Merchandising Supervisor.

REPORTS TO: General Manager (GM)

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Management

WAGE: Exempt 

SUPERVISES: N/A 

DAILY DUTIES:

1. Ensures that all activities conform to Trexcon policies and procedures.
2. Communicate effectively and appropriately with all staff members regarding inventory levels and issues with merchandise. Also communicate with staff about new items and promotions/sales.
3. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Remains flexible in daily routine.
4. Support the mission statement and Core Values of Trexcon.
5. Check in orders using the current scanning process.
6. Price merchandise before putting them on the sales floor.
7. Transfer product to other stores using the current scanning process.
8. Stock products in a manner that is appealing to customers and organized.
9. Set up displays for promotions or sales.
10. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
11. Negotiate all merchandise contracts w/ GM approval.
12. Shop and purchase general merchandise for all stores.
13. Reset merchandise sets annually.
14. Maintain merchandising within all stores weekly.
15. Keep warehouse organized and accurately inventoried.
16. Maintain the Smart Rewards program:
17. Negotiate special pricing from vendors.
18. Set the end cap template for new monthly specials.
19. Effectively communicate with the store managers.

17.Assist in organizing company events.

18.Care for assigned company property: office equipment, vehicles, cell phone.  

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

1. Requires prolonged standing.
2. Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift at least 55 lbs., carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
3. Occasional stooping, bending, reaching, and climbing ladders or step stools.

Must Have: 

1.  Valid Driver's License
