Job Summary

This position is crucial for the finishing process of metal truck bodies and parts in preparation for powder coating or paint.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Grind, sand, and scrape metal surfaces in preparation for coating.


• Pre-Coating Treatment: Wash, rinse, and caulk metal components to ensure optimal coating adhesion.


• Quality Control: Ensure the quality of products before sending them to the coating department.


• Tool Management: Maintain and utilize necessary tools, including air tools, hand tools, tape measures, glue, and tape.


• Safety and Housekeeping: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.


• Flexibility: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, bend, reach, and move around the facility.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Mandatory use of safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety-toed shoes.

Work Environment

• Plant environment with typical elements such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes.


• Conditions are manageable, with no extreme discomfort.


• Expect excessive heat during the summertime.
