Valor Healthcare is looking to support the Miami VA Healthcare System with numerous contract RN positions. To include services in Med Surge, Long Term Care, or in a primary care/ambulatory care setting treating an all adult veteran population.

Job responsibilities
Med Surge Unit
Work on an acute care medical/surgical unit shall be responsible for patient’s assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions, discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures. Shall be BLS & ACLS certified. RN shall demonstrate competency for NGT insertion, chest tubes, trach care, dressing changes, monitor patient condition, report and treat applicable findings, IV insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, twelve lead EKG, Foley Cather insertion and discontinuation, Doppler pressure, Orthostatic blood pressure, wound therapy, (wound vac), dressing changes, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Blood transfusion, blood draw, Drug Administration (Bar Code Medication and Administration (BCMA), bladder irrigation and other procedures and clinical skills required to support the patient population.
Long Term Care Unit
Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age- specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, provides family education. The long-term care nurse shall be responsible for patient ADLs (activities of daily living), assessments, BCMA medication and procedures per established policies and guidelines (i.e.). Barcode medication and administration, IV therapy, blood transfusion, monitor blood pressure, weight and hydration, administration tube feeding, management of behavioral patients, interdisciplinary team participation, admissions, and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to ancillary staff, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.
Primary Care Unit
The Primary Care/ Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT)/Primary Care RN will work as the care coordinator for the PACT. This is an outpatient position. RN Shall will be responsible to check-in patients, provide disease management, scrub appointments, increase patient access through MyHealthyVet/secure message responses, collaborate with community care, and all duties as assigned. The outpatient RN shall be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions, and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel.
