Job Description - General Sales Manager



Are you a driven leader with a proven track record in automotive sales management? Do you have the energy, strategy, and leadership skills to lead a sales team to success? We're looking for a General Sales Manager (GSM) to take charge and drive performance at our high-volume dealership.


About Us:
We are a well-established and customer-focused automotive dealership committed to delivering exceptional experiences through honesty, integrity, and results. With a loyal customer base and strong brand partnerships, we are looking for a GSM to help us take our sales performance to the next level.


What You’ll Do:




  • Lead all aspects of the sales department (new and used vehicles) to achieve monthly and annual targets




  • Develop and execute sales strategies, marketing plans, and inventory control




  • Recruit, train, motivate, and manage the sales team for peak performance




  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including closing ratios, gross profit, finance penetration, and inventory turn




  • Ensure a high standard of customer satisfaction and retention




  • Maintain compliance with manufacturer and legal regulations




What We’re Looking For:




  • Prior experience as a GSM in a high-volume dealership




  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills




  • Proven ability to drive sales volume, gross, and customer satisfaction




  • Experience with CRM and DMS systems 




  • Deep knowledge of new and used car operations, including appraisals, pricing, and inventory control




  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, accountable work culture
