SUMMARY

To provide superior automotive service including all maintenance service items and system flushes. Maintaining a professional appearance and courteous demeanor with all employees and customers, while keeping with all company procedures and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primarily handle all lube, oil, and filter services, maintenance services and system flushes
• Thoroughly perform vehicle inspections and address customer complaints using the VCI vehicle inspection forms
• Communicate recommended work to the Service Advisor/Management
• Maintain and keep work area clean after each repair or as needed
• Perform shop maintenance as instructed
• During down time a technician should put away stock, wash floors, etc.
• Park and lock all vehicles in designated areas
• Assist lead technicians in repair & diagnosis
• Transporting customers, assisting in vehicle delivery and picking up parts as necessary
• Initiate and participate in training opportunities
• Maintain a low rate of comeback repair
• Repair each vehicle according to the Customer's authorization
• Ensure vehicles are completed on-time and test driven before releasing vehicle to customer

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current driver’s license with a good driving record is required
• Ownership of all hand tools required to perform services
• Experience with minor engine repairs
• Capability to make a quality inspection
• Maintaining a clean work environment

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate is preferred
• Obtain and retain a minimum of one ASE certification, by the end of the first year of employment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stretch. Manual dexterity to handle tools and the ability to move 50 pounds are regularly required. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, with assistance, is occasionally required. Vision must be sufficient to inspect auto for maintenance and repairs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. Employees should wear the proper safety gear including eye and ear protection.
