General Superintendent - Retail / Commercial Construction

About The Role

As the General Superintendent for Large Commercial Construction, you will play a vital role in overseeing the execution of multiple high-profile construction projects. You will be tasked with ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. This position demands a strong leader who can coordinate and manage site activities, including subcontractor performance, site safety, and day-to-day operations.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the overall construction process and resources for multiple large commercial projects.
• Supervise all field personnel to ensure projects are built according to plans, specifications, and scheduling.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Coordination and collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, architects, and client representatives.
• Direct the workflow of the project, anticipating issues and implementing solutions in an effective and timely manner.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, accomplishments, safety, and schedule adherence.
• Facilitate effective communication among all team members and stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of safety on site and handle any safety issues as they arise.

• 10+ years of experience in commercial construction with a focus on large-scale projects.
• Proven track record as a Superintendent, successfully managing multiple large commercial construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and building codes.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• Experienced in managing subcontractors and negotiating contracts.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions quickly.
• Proficiency in construction management software and project scheduling tools.
